Writing Skills | CBSE Class 10

As per the latest CBSE Class 10 English syllabus, the Writing Skills section carries a total weightage of 10 marks and includes the following two topics:

1. Formal Letter
  • Letter to the Editor
  • Enquiry Letter
  • Letter for placing an order
  • Complaint Letter - Social Complaint and Personal Complaint
You will be required to write one formal letter (out of two options) based on a given situation, in 100-120 words. This question carries 5 marks.

2. Analytical Paragraph

You will be required to write one analytical paragraph (out of two options) based on a given map/chart/graph/cue, in 100-120 words. This question also carries 5 marks.
